Weekend Roundup

We bought a TV yesterday (to watch the World Cup, of course!) Made a deal that it gets returned once the tournament is over. No idea who I'm favoring yet. The TV is a huge 40 incher we lugged home from Best Buy in a taxi (car is in the shop for a while) with both of us mashed up against the bubble-wrapped screen in the back -- apparently nobody can sit in the front unless there are at least 3 passengers. (??)

Unfortunately the cable guy can't come until next weekend so it's been web-following of the World Cup matches up so far. We've made some use of the TV as a big screen to show videos from previous trips to Quebec, California, Turkey... I can barely comprehend my speech in most of them due to weird audio, bad Turkish accent and frequent laughter, but Murat has been translating. I wish we'd taken more videos on our journeys! Even if the footage is in tungsten whitebalance.

Murat has been glued to his computer the whole weekend-- three day marathon photography tutorial from a lighting master, and free while it is streamed live.
I've had time to catch up with Ft on the phone, read, think about writing, get housecleaning done, catch up on mail and work on logo designs for Murat ('arslan photography' is coming soon!), defrosting salmon (but feasting on cheese & hummus sandwiches and a pint of coffee ice cream instead ;)

With regard to the logo, we're trying to merge an image of a cat or lion into the middle of a geometric pattern like the one below (meant to represent a camera lens):

Bought a cat's face stamp on eBay but can't download the image easily, so it will have to be a surprise! Here are some of the runner-up felines I've found:
